Cookies We Set Ourselves

Your consent choice

A single cookie (mvi_cookie_consent) remembers whether you accepted or declined marketing and analytics cookies. It lasts one year, after which we ask again. This cookie is strictly necessary — it is how your choice is honored.

Campaign attribution

If you arrive from an ad or a tagged link, a first-party cookie (mvi_attribution) records the campaign parameters from the link (such as utm_source and ad click identifiers), your landing page, and the referring site, for 30 days. It exists so we know which of our own campaigns brought you here, and it is set when you land on such a link. It contains no name, email, or browsing history, and it is never shared for anyone else's advertising.

Staff sign-in

Administrators of this site receive a secure session cookie (mvi_admin). It is never set for shoppers.

Storage on Your Device

Some conveniences live in your own browser's storage rather than cookies. These stay on your device and are not transmitted to us as you browse:

• Your cart and guest wishlist (so they survive a page reload)
• Sign-up invitation preferences — whether you dismissed our email popup (kept 30 days) or already subscribed (so we stop asking)

One item on our sample-card campaign page is an exception: we generate a random visitor identifier and send it to us once, together with the page visited, to count unique visits to that page. It holds no name or email and is not linked to your identity.

Third-Party Cookies That Require Your Consent

These load only after you choose Accept on the consent banner. If you decline — or your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal — they are never loaded and set nothing:

• Meta Pixel — measures our Facebook and Instagram advertising (cookies such as _fbp and _fbc)
• Google tag — measures our Google advertising and site analytics (GA4)
• Klaviyo — connects your on-site activity to our mailing list if you are a subscriber

Services That Operate Without the Banner

A small set of services runs independently of the consent banner, either because it is required for the site to function or because it is cookieless by design:

• Vercel Web Analytics & Speed Insights — cookieless, privacy-preserving measurement of page visits and performance; it does not identify you or follow you to other sites
• Stripe & PayPal — set their own cookies at checkout to process payment securely (strictly necessary for purchasing)
• Clerk — sets session cookies when you sign in to your account (strictly necessary for accounts)
• Cloudflare Turnstile — protects our forms from bots (security)
• Judge.me — displays verified product reviews on product pages

Managing Your Consent

On your first visit, a banner invites you to accept or decline. You can change your mind at any time — the Cookie Settings link in the footer of every page reopens the banner in one step. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we record a decline automatically, without showing the banner.

Your choice is remembered for one year. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies entirely; blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site, including checkout and sign-in, from working.

Changes to This Policy

When our cookie practices change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above before the change takes effect.
